I am a freelance writer, nature guide, health coach, and yoga teacher living in the Pacific Northwest, a short hike from the Salish Sea.
Writer. An experienced reporter in print and radio, I find joy in wild things. I have an MA in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins University and write about nature, science, health, travel, and the visual arts.
Nature Guide & Naturalist. As a certified marine naturalist from San Juan Island’s Whale Museum, I lead beach and woodland activities, including nature journaling. I also volunteer as a habitat interpreter at the Seattle Aquarium and as a citizen scientist monitoring sea birds and harbor porpoises.
Teacher. I am also a certified health coach and yoga teacher, with additional certifications in mindfulness and children’s yoga.
Come rain or shine, you can find me kayaking in the local fjord, polar plunging, or leading family beach walks.
My work has been published in The Science Writer, Salish Magazine, Lake Chelan Mirror, Hippocampus Magazine, House Calls, and The Wildlife Society. I was a regular contributor for Lake Chelan Magazine and a freelance arts critic for The Inlander. My audio work was heard daily on KOZI Radio.
